Data Center Upgrade Project

We feel that we should let you, our valued customer, be informed about our data center upgrade project that is planned and in execution in the period Jun-2001 to August-2001.

The major purpose of the project is to increase the service reliability and immunity from disaster of our network by moving our existing data center facilities, which were located in one location, to 3 data centers in separate locations of different operators.

The 3 data centers are: Level3 which is a global carrier from US, KDDI which is the largest international carrier in Japan, and iAdvantage of Hong Kong.

After the project, our network services will be offered with full redundancy, as well as full cross data backup between the different data centers, as described below.

Broadband Access Services - at Level3, KDDI with bandwidth from Level3, KDDI and Equant (formerly GlobalOne)
Dialup Access Services - at Level3 and KDDI with bandwidth from Level3 and KDDI
Corporate Customer Services - KDDI and iAdvantage with bandwidth from KDDI and iAdvantage.

The first phase of the project, including deployment of bandwidth from Level3 for Broadband Access Services, has been completed. The second phase of the project will involve four short durations of service down time. The first scheduled down time is,
